Find Sets of Properties
Page through property search results, filter them, and search a radius around a point
GET /v3/property/ returns every property matching your query, a page at a time. Use it to enumerate the parcels at a shared address, sweep a neighborhood, or work through a county.
Paging
curl 'https://api.whitepages.com/v3/property/?city=Seattle&state_code=WA&page=2&page_size=25' \
--header 'X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY'| Parameter | Type | Default | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
page | integer | 1 | 1+ | Page number, 1-indexed |
page_size | integer | 10 | 1–25 | Results per page |
Keep every other parameter identical across pages. Changing the query mid-sweep changes the ordering, and results shift between pages.
Each response carries a metadata block beside the results:
{
"results": [...],
"metadata": {
"result_count": 2305,
"page": 2,
"page_size": 25
}
}Compare result_count against page × page_size to know whether another page exists.
Every page is a billable request
Pages 1 through 5 count as five billable requests. Raise page_size to 25
rather than taking more pages at the default of 10. See
Billing.
Results stop at 10,000
Paging reaches the first 10,000 results of a query. Past that, pages come back
empty. Narrow with city, zipcode, or fips rather than paging deeper.
Filtering to real matches
A search widens on purpose. Ask for 123 Main Street, Seattle and you also get near matches that share a street name or number, ranked below the exact ones. strict_match=true drops everything that does not match the address you supplied:
curl 'https://api.whitepages.com/v3/property/?street=123%20Main%20Street&city=Seattle&state_code=WA&strict_match=true' \
--header 'X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY'This is how you enumerate the parcels at one address. A condominium or commercial building shares a street address across several parcels, and a strict search returns exactly those.
result_count means something different under strict_match:
strict_match | result_count counts |
|---|---|
false | Every property the query matched, to a maximum of 10,000 |
true | The matches found within a 200-candidate window |
Strict matching decides membership, so the API examines a fixed window of 200 candidates and reports the matches inside it. Every page of one query describes the same set in the same order, and pages past the window come back empty.
strict_match is ignored for a parcel number
The filter compares results against a supplied address. A parcel number search supplies none, so the parameter has nothing to act on.
Searching a radius
Give a point and a distance to find properties around it:
curl 'https://api.whitepages.com/v3/property/?lat=47.60621&lng=-122.33207&radius=2' \
--header 'X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY'| Parameter | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
lat | −90 to 90 | Latitude of the center point |
lng | −180 to 180 | Longitude of the center point |
radius | up to 50 miles | Distance from the center point, default 1 |
Supply lat and lng together. One without the other returns 400.
Omit radius and the search covers one mile.
Address components narrow a radius search rather than competing with it. Adding city or zipcode to a lat/lng query filters the results within the circle.
Each result carries distance_miles, its distance from the center point, and results are ordered nearest first. As with strict matching, a radius search ranks a 200-candidate window, so every page of one query draws from the same set.
A parcel number and a geopoint cannot combine. Each names a property a different way, and sending both returns 400.
When nothing matches
A query matching no property returns 404 carrying the same envelope a match would:
{
"results": [],
"metadata": { "result_count": 0, "page": 1, "page_size": 10 }
}One parser handles both outcomes — read results, and an empty array means no matches.
An empty result is free
404 is not billable on any /v3/property endpoint. Sweeping a wide area
costs you only the pages that return properties. See
Billing.

Search properties by address or APN
Search properties by address or by Assessor's Parcel Number. Nothing matching is a `404` carrying an empty `results` array, so a caller parses one shape either way. Each result links to its full record on the details endpoint, which is where `assessed_info` and mortgage history come from.
